      Israel Kharek is the extra-soft grade of chuhara — larger, plumper pieces with a noticeably more tender texture than standard dry dates. Regular kharek is dried until it becomes hard and tough to chew. Ours is dried carefully so it stays soft enough to eat straight from the jar, with no soaking needed.

      How many kharek should I eat per day?

      For most adults, 3–5 pieces — roughly the 20g serving on the pack — is a sensible daily amount. Anyone with higher energy needs, like athletes, can comfortably have 6–7. Spread them through the day rather than eating the whole jar in one sitting.

      Can diabetics eat this?

      Dry dates are naturally high in sugar — 31g per 100g — so portions matter. Diabetics should limit themselves to 1–2 pieces and monitor their blood sugar response. Eating them alongside nuts like almonds or walnuts slows glucose absorption. Please check with your doctor before making it a regular habit.

      Is it safe during pregnancy?

      Dry dates are traditionally eaten during pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and this product provides iron (59% DV) and calcium (23% DV) per 100g. Two to three pieces with warm milk is a long-standing practice. That said, every pregnancy is different — please confirm with your OB-GYN.

      What is the shelf life?

      12 months from the date of packing. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and keep the jar tightly closed so the pieces stay soft.

      Is this safe for children?

      Yes, for children aged 1 year and above. Start with 1–2 deseeded pieces a day. Because this variety is extra soft, it's much easier for children to chew than hard dry dates. For toddlers, mash or chop the pieces to remove any choking risk, and always supervise.
